Mama Rev. Regina
Mama Rev. Regina Gray, MDiv
Resident Chaplain & Life Coach
Core Services offered:
Advocacy, Coaching, Consulting, Counseling, and Spiritual Guidance
Mama Rev. Regina has a nurturing love and spirit for humanity. She has touched much of the pain that exists in humanity with courage and believes that as keeper of the heart, she and we must be willing to encounter the pain so we can heal it. She believes in the total healing of all oppressed beings especially those throughout the African diaspora- and that we walk with people not on them. Her compassionate nature is an open invitation to all who meet her to open up with the depths of their experiences, one she welcomes as a core aspect of her ministry.
After over twenty plus years as a government employee, Rev. Regina became a life coach. She works with individuals to help move them into the next level of life with time management, financial planning, and healing. She believes in the power of story, so she works to help you identify, walk in and proclaim your truth. By healing the hidden and hurtful pieces of your story, she equips those she works with to emerge as powerful, healed beings. Her ultimate goal is to allow people to proclaim their own narrative. In the past 20 years she’s been a child welfare specialist, chaplain, ordained minister, teacher, facilitator, a mentor and organizer. A life long learner, she holds a Master of Divinity from Eden Theological Seminary. Eden allowed her to step out of societal restraints of denominational boundaries to recognize God in all human beings. Rev. Regina developed a passion to see people fully as who they are, and not the label society has placed on them. Her BA was Communications and Organizational Leadership, so she is well versed in diversity, customs of people and cultures from all walks of life, and descends from a long line of healers and ministers. She is a global traveler, traveling to different countries to stretch her worldviews of love and suffering among the oppressed.
Raised in Chicago she has been a light through trying times believing that healed individuals can help others in the community find peace of mind to live fully in their truth. In the church, she believes that if people are taught to love God, then others properly, they will become the Light of the world. Believing that all people have value and that whenever or wherever you leave a person or a place, that you leave the situation better than you found it.
When the world labeled her as Invisible, she enacted her Second Act. Standing up for absent parents despite their reasoning she worked to break the school to prison pipeline in St. Louis, Missouri. She has organized with the Ferguson Uprising and for Black Lives Matter Movements in the midst of racial turmoil while raising her own children to live fully in their truths. Rev. Regina sees a part for everyone to play in repairing the ills of her enslaved ancestors in America and abroad. For her, that looks like the fight for reparations for descendants of the enslaved brought to America for servitude purposes with no rights. She knows that reparations without healing is not enough to restore her peoples’ mind, body and spirit in a land that is not their own. So she looks to see a healed and whole people living in harmony among all creatures of the earth.
Rev. Regina also serves as the Resident Chaplain of the Black Healers Collective and In-Power Institute. She sees a beauty in death if a life is well-lived. Ultimately, she believes that we all have an untold story in our lived experiences that others would be amazed to know. “Free yourself of the unfulfilled burdens of what you didn’t do and live for who and what you can do. Don’t take your story to the cemetery- let me help you continue to allow your story to live on.”
Allow her to journey with you and/or your group to unleash the true power in yourself or your organization’s leadership.
*Mama Rev. Regina is the title given to her by her colleagues while attending Seminary with her oldest daughter and has been adopted by others who share space with both of them.
